A Little Time, Energy Can Yield Big Savings on Electricity Bill

July 2, 2009

Dear Friends,

In these times of rising utility costs, I got a pleasant surprise when I opened my latest electricity bill. It was $31. Not the usual $150-plus.downsized krebs

Similar savings are available to anyone who enrolls in BGE's Peak Rewards program and who also considers the advantages of switching electricity providers.

Our service consists of two parts:  Supply and delivery.

Since electricity supply is deregulated in Maryland, we can buy electricity from any energy supplier licensed by the Maryland Public Service Commission and registered with BGE. Or, we can continue purchasing our energy from BGE.

In addition to these potential savings, BGE's Peak Rewards program gave me $112 worth of credits off my bill. Peak Rewards helps ease demand at peak hours.
