News from Annapolis                                                                   November 12, 2009 Increased Awareness Key to Preventing Further Thefts  Route 26 To Get "Green Arrow" Left Turns at Klee Mill Road/Old Liberty Road Dear Friends,      With the recent string of robberies and burglaries at South Carroll homes and retail businesses, it's important for us to stay alert.    Law enforcement officials advise us to lock  doors to our houses and cars, and also to report anything out of the ordinary to police.    In addition, police advise retail customers to look inside stores before entering. If you or your loved ones work at a retail business, it would be wise to read the Carroll County Times' recent article on how to stay safe.      New Left -Turn Lanes, "Green Arrow" Signal Under Way at Route 26 Intersection      The intersection of Route 26 and Klee Mill/Old Liberty road is being upgraded to include dedicated left-turn lanes and a "green arrow" traffic signal.      The State Highway Administration announced this week that crews may close lanes on Route 26, Klee Mill Road and Old Liberty Road Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.        Acceleration and deceleration lanes will be added to Route 26 in both directions to improve the transition for right-turning motorists entering or leaving Klee Mill/Old Liberty road. For more details, see the SHA press release.
